Excerpt from the Introduction:
Our history was prepared after almost 200 years of neglect, in the hope that we may stop the loss of the records of our forebearers, and as a reminder for us to be more effective in recording our history for the future. These brave settlers, who came to the wilderness that now forms the boundaries of Ohio Valley, brought with them their strong, Presbyterian Christian beliefs. They built our churches and our congregations, with the understanding that the houses of worship should be no less than a days travel from the last or to the next. Following the rivers and game trails, they forged a new country based on the strength of their Christian principles. Let us celebrate their journey and ours.
